Instead of copying a new rcS file over the existing one (the purpose of this is to eliminate the lina start line – the last line in the /etc/init.d/rcS file), you can also read the /etc/init.d/rcS file into notepad++ or some other ascii file editor as long as it doesn’t append CRLFs at the end of each line. /etc/init.d/rcS is a linux/unix file and as such it only has LFs (Line-feeds) at the end of each line whereas a windows file will always have CRLFs (Carriage Return Line Feeds).
